EMBARKING on a journey in 1997 as a single branch and expanding to 27
branches across Tanzania and internationally, Exim Bank has etched a
glorious milestone in Tanzania's banking sector. The 17 years that
rolled by in the annals on Exim's history, were celebrated with pomp and
pride on Friday August 15, as a festive atmosphere filled in the Exim
branches countrywide uniting the staff and the loyal clients of the bank.
Exim bank has brought in a great deal of 'expansion and innovation'
since inception as the Tanzania's local bank and its total assets have
crossed one trillion shilling milestone as of June 2013. Mr Eugene
Masawe, Exim Head of Operations and one of the pioneering staff proudly
remarks; "the 17th anniversary signifies the bank's achievements over
the years, as it has exhibited through its performance that it has "An
edge above the rest".
The 17th Exim anniversary has not only marked another successful passing
year but also instilled a sense of fulfillment for all staff with
performance driven results. Profit markup by 80% percent (TZS 9.6
billion), net interest growth by 36% (TZS 14.3 billion) and Forex increase
by 33% from last year are strong indicators of the bank's ambitious
targets in the years to come.
The successful operation of Exim has been derived from the Bank's
passion to offer unmatched banking services backed by dedicated staff and
loyal customers that made it 1st in Customer Care in Tanzania 2012 (KPMG
Report).
Customizing retail-banking products, loan facilities and introducing
modern banking services have been vital to keep up to the bank's
tagline, 'innovation is life.'
Nancy Huggin, Senior Branch Manager said, "We have now embarked into
innovative retail model which will help improve customers' contact and
coordination of branches in areas where we operate."
Issa Hamisi, the acting Chief Finance Officer added, "A top priority is
still our commitment to strengthen our market position and improve
customer satisfaction through operation efficiency."
On this special day, Exim invited its clients and patrons to celebrate the
Bank's anniversary across all branches in Tanzania and the corporate
staff joined at the Samora branch where Exim was born.
During this memorable event, Mr Masawe proudly stated, "Having completed
17 years of successful operations in Tanzania, we will continue our
steady, planned growth with more focus on offering first class services
and even more innovative products and services."
