Exim Bank celebrates official launch of its New Flagship Branch in Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam, November 19th, 2019: Exim Bank Tanzania hasunveiled its latest effort to strengthen its reach to a larger target market with the official inauguration of its new branch located in Dar es Salaam’s Mkwepu Street.

The grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting was presided over by the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) Deputy Governor (Financial Stability and Deepening), Dr Bernard Kibesse who represented the Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Philip Mpango. In his opening remarks, Dr Kibesse applauded Exim Bank for extending its footprint to a total of 33 branches nationwide.

 

“Let me congratulate Exim Bank for extending its footprint. In a special way let me also commend them for the successful acquisition of the Tanzania’s subsidiary of Pakistan’s UBL Bank in its plan to spread and expand nationwide,’’ he said.

He further called on the bank to intensify its efforts to provide specialized and innovative services to small and medium-sized businesses to increase their impact on economic transformation in the country.

 

Speaking during the occasion heldin Dar es Salaam today, Exim Bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Jaffari Matundu said the opening of the new branches will help strengthen Exim Bank’s presence competitively at the various locations to easily provide the bank’s products and services to the residents and business owners of the vibrant areas.

“We are excited to welcome UBL Bank’s customers, employees and communities to the Exim Bank family. This move will expand our presence to larger market and will add a team of talented bankers to Exim Bank” He said Dar es Salaamis an important market for Exim Bank and the newly launched Mkwepu branch embraces innovative technology and design which will enable the bank’s customers to interact with the bank officials in a way that suits them and in surroundings that are comfortable and accessible for all.

 

Explaining the bank’s plan Mr. Matundu said that they intend to offer high speed in terms of delivery so as to ensure that customers experience swift and seamless services, streamline the provision of services to factor in the demands and requirements of specific customers and market segments.

“We will always strive to make banking more accessible, flexible and convenient for our customers.
