EXIM BANK DISHES TEN MILLION TO SUPPORT NEEDY ELDERLY PROJECTS

EXIM Bank Tanzania has presented a 10m/- cheque to Tushikamane Pamoja Foundation (TPF) to help it serve the needy elderly in 40 households within Dar es Salaam.

The Foundation which currently distributes food and personal items to 40 households within Dar es Salaam on a monthly basis also implements projects that include medical consultations to this special group. 

Speaking during a short handover ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam yesterday, Exim Bank Head of Risks and Compliance, Mr. David Lusala said that the bank upholds the virtue of giving back part of its income to the community, through projects that transforms and or uplifts socio - economic standards of the recipients. 

Exim Bank has been very keen in supporting the community where it operates. As part of our CSR initiatives, today we are handing over 10m/-to TPF in support of their projects that have been designed to help the needy, elderly and the community as a whole.

I urge the management of TPF to ensure that the funds we have donated are directed to judicious use to enable more needy people to benefit from your good course activities,” said Mr. Lusala.

He reiterated that Exim Bank will continue injecting funds in support of projects which are engine for socio-economic development in the country so as to help the society improve their living standards.

On her part, Tushikamane Pamoja Foundation Treasurer, Ana Rupia applauded the Exim Bank for the support and said that the funds received by TPF will be directed to projects which have already been designed to help the needy elderly.

We have planned to build a home for the elderly in Kwembe, at Kinondoni District that will function as a home for selected elderly persons. The home will provide easy access to medical care, close supervision and a warm humanity care to the beneficiaries.

“We are now waiting for the building permit before commencing the construction work. We thank Exim Bank for their support and I urge other institutions to emulate their wonderful gesture,” Mrs. Rupia Said.
