FOOTPRINTS IN COMOROS

EXIM Bank Tanzania has continued to widen its reach to customers abroad by opening its 4th branch in Domoni (Anjouan), a move that aimed at taking the bank’s services closer to its customers in Comoros Islands.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Domoni at the weekend, the guest of honour, Governor of Anjouan Mr. Anissi Chamsidine, congratulated Exim Bank’s effort to bringing its innovative services closer to the people of Domoni and reaching the unbanked communities.

“I would like to applaud Exim Bank for its efforts to bringing its banking services closer to the people of Domoni. The bank’s customer-friendly approach and innovation in the services offered have been remarkable and should be an example for other banks to emulate,” said Governor Anissi.

He said the creation of the Domoni Branch, will allow the Exim Bank in Comoros to possess a financial services platform closer to its market and clients in the country as a whole.

Governor Anissi reiterated that the branch would enable the entire population of Domoni to access quality banking facilities, which include inward and outward remittances and access to credits at reasonable rates.

“With this branch, it means the services have been brought closer to the people of Domoni, this will be the opportunity for them to access quality services the bank offers. I would like to urge Domoni people to use this opportunity by opening-up accounts with the bank which will ensure safety of their money and they will also enjoy other services offered by the bank,” he added.

On his part, the bank’s Country Head, Mr. Ganesh Kumar said that Exim Bank would soon be expanding its reach to the people of Comores, by opening satellite offices, extension counters and will install more ATMs and point of sales machines in various places.

He said that, Exim Bank is also committed to bring in the best of technology to the benefit of the Comorian people and stated that, Exim Bank would roll out new technology products in the near future.

Exim bank opened the first branch in the Island at Moroni in 2007, with branches being followed in Mitsamudu (Anjouan) and Moheli, covering all the islands of the Archipelago.
